Jerry, of the small town of Powderly, Texas, is a hard working man. Once a trucker, a wrecker, a welder, now he spends his days fixing anything that is brought to him for repairs.
“I’ve been here on this property for 40 years,” Jerry says. “I used to buy and sell trucks. I had a wrecking yard here, a long time ago. I would sell a lot of truck parts and I used to do a whole lot of welding.”
He had few words to share, but his collection of retired workhorses spoke volumes about his and their decades of hard work and pride. Jerry did not mind that I wandered his acres with the old Rolleiflex as he worked on restoring an old generator. His property is a sort of accidental art exhibition, each truck its own environment, on display within a natural setting.
